At Scandal Designs, we believe that every little step towards a better planet is important. We want to make a positive change with the following eco-friendly solutions for all of our printed products and T-shirts.
Water based INKT
At Scandal Designs, we have partnered with a custom printing supplier that aims to work as eco-friendly as possible. The water-based inks that our supplier uses are free of heavy metals, formaldehyde and Alkylphenol Ethoxylates (APE), making them non-hazardous and non-toxic. The best part? They use biodegradable ink. Plus, their industry-leading printers are an eco-friendly printing solution!
NO water waste
Textile dyeing is the second largest polluter of clean water globally, right after agriculture. Did you know that the volume of water used in conventional dyeing and textile print processes could fill the Mediterranean Sea every two years? Not cool. That’s why we could not be happier that our supplier uses a 100% waterless printing process. 100% waterless! No pretreatments. No steaming. No washing required.
Oh, and did you also know that our supplier tries to minimize waste in packaging and source eco-friendly packaging materials?
Eco-friendly T-shirt's
Most of our T-shirts come from a clothing manufacturer which uses efficient dye machines to color the fabric of the entire product. During this process, they use 7x less water than the average for clothing manufacturers, saving 24 million gallons (!) of water a week. Any water that they do use, goes through a filtration system so it can be recycled. They also recycle nearly everything that can’t be turned into a T-shirt.
